Victoria here....Maggie and I just had the funniest series of synchronicities as we sat on the terrace and planned for the extraordinary day we wanted to manifest at the store today....she told me all about watching the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, which I'm sure many of you saw. She talked about the awesome display of human cooperation and the hard-to-believe spectacle and truly breathtaking feat and the eery "08-08-08 at 8:08:08 PM start time! It just goes to show what the enormous amount of will power, discipline, and MONEY can create.....but kinda makes you go "hmmmmm" and wonder if the U.S.A. could do this. Currently at our rate of borrowing and or selling off to this giant, China, it doesn't seem probable. We can't even fix potholes 2 feet deep here in West Hollywood-one of the wealthiest parts of town....let alone fix our homelessness crisis....let alone provide healthcare to our citizens....let alone trust that our upcoming election won't be rigged....yada, yada, yada-you get the point.
I then began to read and share my two favorite astrologists' recent writings as I hadn't had a chance yet, each from their respective websites (which I highly recommend subscribing to! Many of you have been treated to their horoscopes in Malgosia)...
Priya Kale and
Eric Francis/Planetwaves. Priya's blog talked about her attendance at the last Police concert ever, in NY a few evenings ago....she referenced WRAPPED AROUND YOUR FINGER-which is my FAVORITE of their songs, and I told Maggie I always loved the line..."I will turn your flesh to alabaster. Then you will find your servant is your master." I said how the moment of crystallization that the tables have turned is priceless when you are the Master and terrifying if you are the one who is the Servant. And who hasn't experienced this in some form?
Maggie realized while watching the opening of the Olympics and the feat that the Chineese pulled off could be viewed as amazing and awesome but also quite intimidating at the same time...
The harmony and or the power of the collective of that nature with the strength and commitment of so many and each one of individuals in the mass of that country... intense.
Next we went on to read Eric's essay entitled
"THE SPIRITUAL OLYMPICS (AND THE POWER OF 8)...which bore the brilliant title of this blog and our next synchronicity in this coffee talk. It is simply stunning how the number 8 plays into this culture, this event, this time we are living in. This article is worth the subscription to the website, especially since it comes with tons of brilliant writings, blogs, horoscopes and most importantly ADVERTISING FREE content....which is hard to come by at this juncture. It's as grass-roots as you can get and as you know, we love that at Malgosia. Go Planetwaves!!! And Eric has graciously let us share with you, so just click on the title.
We continued further and Eric concludes his essay with this:
"....wake up and smell the chow mein. China is all about power in the sense of un-evolved 8. They are leveraging their greed against the greed of the United States, loaning us $2 billion a day, most of which we send right back by way of purchasing their multitude of products. The Republicans used to be against this kind of thing, but remember that China as we now know it is a product of Republicanism.
When Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger opened up the modern economic history of China in 1972, which reinvented China into a trading partner rather than the Other Evil Empire, the whole idea was for the people involved to make money. China was granted the status of a legitimate business. Holding the Olympics there is the completion of the process begun by Nixon, which is granting China additional legitimacy and plenty of additional economic power. What they do with it is another question.
The Summer Olympic games used to be one of the most important psychic events in the life of our society. Time has obviously gone on, and we live in a more complex time, when we have a lot more to face in the way of so-called reality. I think it's interesting that among the top two concerns, apart from smog, about what might disrupt the games are terrorism and state-sponsored terrorism. The good part is we can look at the hosting government and say honestly that we don't know if it's our friend or not. This, I would call healthy skepticism. Maybe even progress. Let the games begin. "This brought our discussion full circle. I guess the next question is, how do you spend your money? If you bought a $5.90 H&M dress (or insert any other "discount" store that allows you to "get your fill" with 4 bags in hand when you leave for under what some people in China make in a month of working) it was probably made in a factory (the legalized slave trade) by an 11 year old who never sees the light of day. But you don't have to.
Which begs this question: Who is the Servant and who is the Master now?
