Costume Designer Extraordinaire & Cabo trip winner gets ready to hit MEXICO!

We are really excited to tell you about our friend and winner of the CABO trip (remember we said we were doing this?...well we had a very exciting give-away at our launch party)...The winner was none other than Hollywood Superstar Costume Designer, Betsy Heimann. She has designed the clothing and costumes from some of our favorite films: RESERVOIR DOGS, PULP FICTION, ALMOST FAMOUS, JERRY MAGUIRE, VANILLA SKY and many others. Here she is above while filming RUSH HOUR 2 in Paris with Jackie Chan...a woman's gotta hit the streets of Paris apres-work and here she is doing it.

As for some of our favorites....Remember these classic fashion moments??

THIS is quite possibly, one of Victoria's favorite all-time outfits-one that she has tried to reproduce many times over the years (wig included)-just can't ever wear out the cropped pants and white tailored top...She has loved these pants especially since the day she first saw PULP FICTION in a movie theater in Prague, when the film was originally released. Now, she gets to work with the mastermind behind the look! Serendipity indeed....






Here is the Rock 'n Rollers from ALMOST FAMOUS....who could forget that amazing coat Penny Lane rocked as the best Band-Aid in history? This movie truly made you feel like you were there in the 70s in the Sunset scene-and Betsy definitely designed it herself. Stunning!

Please join us in celebrating a favorite cause of ours at Malgosia : CARE...We've been involved in helping them promote a film produced by the Global Ambassador Sheila C. Johnson, A POWERFUL NOISE. Here is the info. for the LIVE EVENT.

FINALLY, this film is making it's way nationwide MARCH 5 and there is a red-carpet event here in Los Angeles in Century City. We will be there with our bells on and hope you can make it with us. This is a really amazing film about the power of Women in our World when we come together to help one another.

Following the film will be a live simulcast with Madeline Albright, Christy Turlington Burns, Natalie Portman, Nicolas Kristof and others who are Activists for Womens Issues. Yeah! Let's talk about this more.

Music Video in our Window.....

Singer-songwriter Molly Jenson, a local from S. California is here at Malgosia today filming her new Music Video for her single "GIVE IT TIME" directed by Piper Ferguson. In the video, Molly "lives" in the storefront window as her love interest busks in front of the window. We will definitely post it once it is up! Go Mayor Bloomberg of New York......We just read about his idea, covered in New York Magazine, to charge 5 cents for all PLASTIC bags, including those from stores like the Gap. Bravo!

We've been using recyclable bags at MALGOSIA since day one and love when we see someone on the street carrying one of our purple gems!

We love making POSITIVE statements in our windows....pre-election, we had him in our window and decided to keep him up through the Inauguration! We've gotten so many great new customers, who came in simply because he was in the window. One of our neighbors submitted a photo of our window to the NEW YORK TIMES and we were featured!

He may consider knitwear to be his trademark-that's what Louis Vuitton hired him to do-but it's galactic prints that are getting all the attention these days. When Risto Bimbiloski presented his Spring 2009 collection, "Hypernova," Anouck Lepere became self-appointed ambassadress for the standout print of the collection-colorfully starry images from the Hubble telescope juxtaposed against a black silk background-wearing the print on pants and dresses backstage at Paris Fashion Week and at Lanvin cocktail parties.

While we don't always see eye to eye with people who oppose us, it is our duty as EVOLVED beings to practice what we preach....Eventually there will be a tipping point and everyone will see this Universal Truth as the only way to be!
